This restoration initiative breathes new life into a historic structure, retaining its intrinsic charm while integrating the modern design identity of the coffee brand.
The design concept situates the café within the context of the courtyard, fostering a dialogue between the nostalgia of old Bangalore and the vibrancy of its present. The color palette, characterized by muted hues that evoke memories of traditional homes, complements the landscape, which features a grey IPS wall providing a neutral backdrop for red oxide flooring—symbolic of the region’s cultural heritage.
Subko café is thoughtfully distributed over two levels; the ground floor accommodates a takeaway counter, chocolate display, kitchen, and an experiential workshop space designed to engage visitors. The upper level features a main bar area and varied seating clusters, promoting a versatile atmosphere suitable for different customer demographics.
